Stephen T. Makrinos is a leading American scientist who has held various executive positions in the US Department of Defence, over a career that spanned 32 years. Stephen is currently Vice President and Chief Scientist for CACI Technologies Inc. a Defence Contractor, with annual revenues of US $3.1 Billion dollars. In this capacity Stephen’s role is to support the Army’s Research Development and Engineering Centre (RDEC) at Ft .Monmouth, New Jersey, the Department of Homeland Security and several Federal and State Agencies in the USA.

Stephen is the pre-eminent expert for radar systems in the world. In the course of his Government career Stephen was involved in the development and fielding of several major weapons systems for the US Army including the Stand Off Target Acquisition System (SOTAS), the first US Army Moving Target Indication Radar System ever deployed and the Joint Surveillance Target Attack Radar Systems (JSTARS), used by Coalition Forces during the First Gulf War. He has served as Chairman of NATO Technical Panels, providing strategic advice and technical expertise in the development and fielding of several NATO Systems.

Stephen also held the position of Chief of the Information Operations Special Projects Office, responsible for the digitization of the US Army, developing and fielding tools to protect the army’s tactical internet and higher echelons network.
